Seven Meadows residents can mark their calendar for August 23rd 2008 for the annual Dive In Movie Event at the Central Park Pool. The event was a great success last year and everyone is looking forward to this years event. Bring your pool floats and be ready because the movie begins at dusk. Games will also start at about 8pm...and prizes will be awarded. Don't miss out on this great event...just another reason to live in the Master Planned Community of Seven Meadows!

Are you and your family looking forsomething to do that is local and fun? On Saturday mornings at La Centerra in Cinco Ranch, there will be a series of cultural arts events happening that will be fun for the whole family.

The events will be the third and fourth Saturdays in July and August.  There will indoor activities as well as outdoor activities.

Coming up on July 26th will be The Dance of Asia held outside at Heritage Sqaure in La Centerra, no tickets are required for this event, and the show begins at 10:30 am and ends at 11:15.

Mona and I love to eat...that being the case we have eaten at just about every restaurant in the Katy area. Here are our picks for the best Mexican restaurants in Katy...and they have some of the best Mexican food we have ever eaten anywhere!

La Finca:

this restaurant is located at 23930 Westheimer Parkway near the Grand Parkway (99) 77494. The Phone is 281-693-0140. The food is great and the prices are unbelievable...this is one of the best deals in Katy. The service has always been really good and it is easy to get in and out when you are in a rush.

Another great choice...and a real kid friendly choice is El Jarrito located at 21724 Highland Knolls Dr just east of Mason Rd in Katy, 77450. The phone is 281-579-8844. This place has a great menu, lots of specials, and a large bar. The outdoor patio includes a kids sandbox and play area...so you can enjoy your food while the kids play. Juanita's Special is my favorite!

This is our favorite. Great food, two locations in Katy (one at the Katy Mills Mall that is shiny and new and one in old Katy on hwy 90 at ave D). The original is awesome and you will get the Old Katy flavor. The new one is larger and you might even get a three piece band walking around and playing your Mexican favorites. The food is some of the best you will ever find and the menu is so large you will be planning what you will have your next time back. The Mall location is on the road surrounding the mall Katy 77494. It is on the west side of the mall parking lot.

Wow, we looked down today and noticed in the year or so we started on the AR network we have written 300 posts!

We were kind of surprised we have that many posts. It really amounts to about 1 every working day of the year for us....maybe a little more. Who knew we had so much to talk about. Between the mortgage meltdown, the Presidential election, the baseball season, and the sales and marketing tips we love to write about...I guess we always have something to give our opinions on!

With November rolling around and the Obama/McCain campaigns in full swing we may have even more to write about in the next year.

For Pizza (remember we are both originally from the NYC area...so pizza is king) we have to favorites. For chain type joints we like New York Pizzeria. Two locations in the Katy area...one just north of I-10 on Westgreen, the other in Cinco Ranch on Westheimer just north of Cinco Ranch Blvd. Both have large slice NY style thin crust pizza. You can get lots of traditional toppings including my personal favorite...eggplant. The dishes other then pizza are also good, and the place has some wonderful salads (try the Mediterranean Salad)

Nottingham Country is a beautiful subdivision in the south Katy area that stands out from many of it's contemporaries. First it can never be described as cookie cutter. Many different styles of homes are represented in Nottingham including tudor, modern, colonial, victorian, and traditional homes. Let us not forget to think a little bit today about all the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who are putting their lives on the line for their Country. You may or may not agree with the wars in both Countries...but please remember that the young men and women who are putting their lives on the line do it on order of our Commander in Chief.

Many years from now we will look back and with some perspective and decide with clear minds if the conflicts and wars we are now in helped make our Country safer or helped reduce the threat of terrorism...but today we need to honor those who despite their personal feelings go out every day and perform the tasks that our Country calls on them to do!
