The Cinco Ranch annual town meeting has been set for Thursday June 19th from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Cinco Ranch High School Cafeteria. The sign in for the meeting will start at 6:30pm.

The meeting will include info about:

1. The new Cinco I Board of Directors and neighborhood reps.

2. Community updates from all managers including landscape.

3. Handouts on recreational facilities, activities, budgets, and financial info.

Discussions about the split of Cinco I and Cinco II amenities will likely be a hot topic of discussion.

On Saturday, May 31, 2008 the Venture On! 5K run will kick off at 7:30am at Cinco Ranch Jr High School located near the corner of The Grand parkway and Cinco Ranch Blvd (23420 Cinco Ranch Boulevard
Katy, TX 77494).

The entrance fee for the 5k is $25, for the 1M walk it is $20, and for the 1M family walk it is $30.

The race will be chip timed for the 5k. The Top 2 finishers in each age bracket will receive awards. Each child who participates receives a medal!

 Memorial Day is a time for us to reflect on what is really important. Not just the backyard BBQ with family or the pool party or the fireworks...it is about those who gave their lives so we could pursue our happiness! Please take some time to read through the posts of family hero's I see today on AR. They illustrate why we should all be proud to be Americans.

Also take some time today to say a prayer for those who are today in Iraq and Afghanistan...and those who went and did not come back.

It is truly a great day to be an American...make sure you have your flag on the front of your home...to let others know how you fell!

It is that special time of year again in Katy Texas...the subdivision pools all open up for the Memorial Day weekend. Almost every one of the wonderful subdivision pools here in Katy employ at least one lifeguard who is CPR certified. Even with these great precautions please keep an eye on young children. Lets make this a happy and healthy Memorial Day...and take some time to remember those who have given their lives so we can use all the wonderful amenities we have in this great country!

The Cinco Ranch Property Association will have its annual meeting on Thursday June, 19 2008. The meeting will be help from 7pm to 8:30pm with sign in at 6:30pm. The board of Directors, the NRC reps, and the management of the Association will all be on hand to go over what is new and to answer any questions in an open floor type format. Questions about Cinco Southwest and the sharing of amenities is likely to be a big topic of discussion.

Based on the new neighborhood (King Lakes) Katy ISD has decided to put in a new school zone for Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary. The location is on Katy Gaston Rd just north of Cinco Ranch Blvd and runs between the Highland Pool and Cinco Ranch Blvd. For those who live in King Lakes....watch your speed and remember the children!

Cinco Ranch lake management will be performing its annual lake treatment starting today. The objective of the treatment is to rid the lakes of brushy pond weeds. This treatment is being done earlier this year to prevent the weeds from getting out of hand. During this treatment the fountains will be turned off in the lakes so lake management can help prevent damage to the grass and landscaping around the lakes. As many residents of Cinco Ranch already know we have two separate HOA's (home owner associations) in the Master Planned Community. the Cinco Ranch HOA is located on Mason Rd in the eastern part of the development, and the Cinco Southwest Community Management which manages the newer parts of Cinco Ranch (known as Cinco II) is being managed by CIA services at 9800 Centre Parkway Ste 625, Houston, TX 77036. The name of the manager for the HOA is Karen Cooper, and the phone number is 713-981-9000...the fax is 713-981-9090. This went into effect on May 1st.

The new green project in Cinco Ranch Southwest is set to open for the Memorial Day Weekend. Cinco Ranch will be holding festivities at the park and pool. The Cinco Ranch Community Center is a certified green project that will even have rain water collectors to water the lawns! The new Community Center is located of Spring Green Blvd and Fry Rd directly behind the new 31 model home center in CInco Ranch II and is directly in front of the new 36 acre recreational lake.

Great news...I have their neighborhood...Parkway Oaks. The KISD schools are great...Rylander Elementary, Cinco Ranch JR High, and Cinco Ranch High School. DR Horton is the builder...and is a wonderful national builder with a great representation. The neighborhood has great amenities like a kids park, a pool, and a large soccer field style park. Katy is a family area and homes tend to reflect the buyers...and that equals family sized homes.
